What Medicare covers

Medicare Part B covers test strips and lancets — commonly up to 100 strips and 100 lancets every month for insulin-treated patients (and a 3-month allowance for non-insulin), more with documentation. CGMs are covered for patients treated with insulin or with a history of problematic hypoglycemia, billed monthly under the CGM supply allowance (A4239). We confirm which applies to you.

FAQ

Diabetic in Minnesota — common questions

Am I eligible for a CGM through Medicare?+

Medicare covers a continuous glucose monitor for people with diabetes who are treated with insulin, or who have a documented history of problematic (low) blood sugar. If that's you, we verify it and handle the order — the monitor and sensors ship to your door.

How many test strips will Medicare cover?+

For insulin users, typically up to 100 strips and 100 lancets per month; for non-insulin users, a 3-month supply. Higher quantities are possible with documentation of how often you test. We'll confirm your covered amount.

Can I switch from finger sticks to a CGM?+

Often yes, if you meet Medicare's criteria. Many patients find a CGM dramatically easier than daily finger sticks. We check your eligibility and walk you through the switch.
