What's in Mobility & Walking Aids

What we provide.

Manual + power wheelchairs

From everyday transport chairs to fitted rehab-style wheelchairs and power mobility devices for qualifying patients.

Walkers + rollators

Standard walkers, four-wheel rollators with seats, hemi-walkers. We size at delivery — handle height matters more than people think.

Scooters + transport chairs

Compact transport chairs for caregiver-pushed trips, scooters for independent in-community mobility.

Canes, crutches, accessories

Quad canes, forearm crutches, cushions, ramps, tray attachments. The supporting gear that makes the main equipment actually work.

Why mobility patients pick Affinity

Fit at delivery.
Documentation in front.
Real home, not a showroom.

  • ATP involvement on power mobility

Power wheelchairs require Assistive Technology Professional evaluation. We coordinate the ATP visit so the device matches your home's doorways, ramps, and turning radius.

  • Home accessibility assessment included

Before we ship a power chair, we confirm your home can actually accommodate it. Saves you from an expensive return and a coverage gap.

  • Face-to-face documentation collected

Medicare PMD coverage requires a documented face-to-face mobility evaluation. We chase the chart note from your physician so the order doesn't bounce.

  • Loaner walker on the day, not the week

Transitioning from hospital to home? We bring a walker on the discharge day, not when the paperwork finishes processing.

Assistive Technology Professional evaluation for power mobility orders

FAQ

Common questions.

Does Medicare cover a power wheelchair?
Yes, with documentation: face-to-face mobility evaluation with your physician, Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) involvement, home accessibility assessment, and confirmation that lesser-cost alternatives (cane, walker, manual chair) don't meet your needs. We coordinate all of this before ordering.
What's the difference between a walker and a rollator?
A walker is a four-legged frame you pick up and place — gives you the most stability. A rollator is a wheeled walker with brakes and usually a seat — easier to push but you need adequate hand strength to brake. We size on the day so you get the right one.
Can I rent equipment instead of buying?
Medicare typically rents DME (caps after 13 months for most categories, 36 for oxygen). For most patients, that's how it works automatically. We'll explain rental vs. purchase decisions case by case if it matters for your situation.
How fast can I get a walker if I'm coming home from the hospital?
In metro Phoenix, same-day loaner walker delivery is the norm for hospital discharges. Final fitting and the long-term order happens once we have your prescription + face-to-face note.
